How to Repair a Torn Snowmobile Paddle
Most torn paddles start small: a partial rip, a missing chunk, or a lug starting to separate at the base. Repair it early and keep riding the track you already paid for.
SNOWMOBILE PADDLE REPAIR
1. Clean and smooth the paddle
Prep the paddle by using the included sanding disc or sandpaper to smooth the area where the patch will sit. Remove loose rubber and raised edges so the patch can bond flat to the surface of the paddle.
2. Apply adhesive to the patch
Choose a patch that covers the damage with at least 1/2" of overlap on every side. Apply the included adhesive to the patch using the applicator tips. Follow a dot pattern while applying adhesive. Less is more.
3. Place the patch and hold 30 seconds
Set the patch over the split or torn area to reinforce it. Press firmly and hold for 30 seconds, making sure the edges and corners are fully down.
4. Let it cure 5–10 minutes. Ride.
Leave the repair alone for 5–10 minutes to cure. Inspect the bond before riding and follow the full instructions included in your kit. Patch can cure in temps ranging from -20F to 110F. Now head out there and ride!

Know Before You Repair
Good candidates for a GlueTread repair
- Partial rips and tears in a paddle, up to about 3.5" long
- Missing chunks up to approx. 2" x 2"
- Paddles starting to separate at the base, as long as the paddle is still mostly attached
- Wear and superficial damage on the track belt
Not a fit
- Paddles that are mostly or fully torn off. The patch reinforces a paddle; it can't rebuild one.
- Damage that holds the track together. Don't use a patch as a structural repair for the track, belt, cords, clips or rods.
- Damage too large to cover with the 4" x 4.5" patch while leaving at least 1/2" of patch around it.
