Sidewall Seal Kit
First off this is a really good product. Great adhesion of patch. Unfortunately, didn't work for me. As you can see in photo the damage to tire was attributed to old age (10yrs). After prepping tire by sanding down lettering I cut a patch to fit in the slight channel of the tire. Damage was primarily in corners of the channel which ran about 6" in length but the whole tire had cracking in the channel. Patch worked great over heavily damaged part and prevented air leakage. Unfortunately I had slow leakage around the whole tire therefore making use of this product incompatible. To the manufacturer perhaps use of a thinner more flexible patch might work for these types of damage. I know I needed new tires but putchased this product as a quick fix. This product will work for sidewall damages which are consistent with the instructions.
I got a small puncture in the sidewall of my UTV tire. It cost me over $100 for my last repair using a tube. Following the instructions, i used my dremel to rough the sidewall and remove some lettering at the repair site. I put the 25 or so drops onto the patch as per instructions and placed the patch on the tire. I let it cure overnight. It works!! im three months now driving on that tire. The patch is stuck on there completely. no curling of any edge, no leak. Perfect!
Sidewall damage on a 10 yr old front tractor tire.I'm not ready to buy a new tire since I'm cheap, but my tire went flat and I rode it a bit without realizing. End result, sidewall gash that went all the way through. I tried silicon as a cheat and it didn't so I bought this. I did a few things different than instructions since I had tools, but this kit was worth it and then some.I used an orbital and 60 grit instead of the 80 grit and hand sanding.I glued gash and hand sanded edges off the glue as instructed.I heated up the wheel and patch prior to gluing to ensure it stuck. Did this because I had the tools and science works.Used a wood clamp to hold it for 30 mins.Aired up and put all weight on it. No leak.Tried to sand down patch for smooth side transition, but that rubber is good and I'll let it ride.End result, tire is holding great and I have enough material to replace 5 times if I need to.Worth it!
I had trouble and two failed patches, but these guys came through. Sent me a new product and offered support. I also used one of their valve stems — a product that lets you remove the junk one from a large agricultural tire and replace it without taking off the tire. Great company and excellent products!
Whatever I ran over gauged a piece of my tire's sidewall. I found this product on Amazon, and I thought I'd give it a try. I was able to apply/use a piece of the rubber provided along with the glue; this not only concealed the visual defect but also strengthened the area.
