On March 12, 2025, Ben Hancock shared a video on Instagram (@mountainreadymethod) showing how he used a GlueTread Tractor Repair Kit to fix a ripped lug on his snowmobile track. Watching him walk through the repair process got us at GlueTread thinking: if riders are already using our patches for paddle track repair, maybe it was time to build a kit specifically for that purpose.
What started as a creative idea turned into thousands of mountain-tested miles. After more real-world riding and additional video evidence from Ben later that year, the idea became something more.
On February 1, 2026, the GlueTread Snowmobile Paddle Repair Kit officially launched.
But this kit was not created just because riders were getting creative. It was created because ripped paddles impact performance, and waiting until a lug fully shears off can shorten the life of your track.
That is where early paddle track repair makes a real difference.
Why Repairing a Ripped Paddle Early Matters
Snowmobile tracks work best when all the paddles are intact. Once you start losing lugs, performance can change fast.
We have talked with riders who say losing as few as three paddles can throw a sled off balance and make it harder to handle. The track is no longer pulling evenly, and the remaining paddles take on more stress.
A small rip might not seem urgent. But once a paddle fully shears off, that exposed edge is more likely to keep tearing. One missing lug can turn into several, and now you are dealing with uneven performance instead of a simple repair.
If you can repair a ripped paddle before it completely shears from the track, the track can perform much longer. That is the whole idea behind early paddle track repair.
Nobody wants to replace a track mid-season if they do not have to. That was part of the motivation behind building this kit.
Real Mountain Testing Behind the GlueTread Snowmobile Paddle Repair Kit
Before this kit officially launched, riders were already putting GlueTread patches to the test on snowmobile tracks. Ben Hancock logged serious mountain miles on repaired paddles before we ever packaged it into a dedicated kit.
Those were not light trail rides. They were real-world conditions, deep snow, and long days in the mountains.
Between Ben’s mountain miles and the riding we did on our own sleds, we felt confident that the GlueTread Snowmobile Paddle Repair Kit was not just possible, but practical.
You can see everything that comes in the kit on our product page.

This kit exists because riders were already finding a way to make it work. We simply listened. If it helps you stretch the life of your track and finish the season strong, that is a win in our book.
