Which GlueTread Kit is Best for You?

No one wants to be stranded with sidewall damage on the trail. While GlueTread specializes in sidewall repair, we do have a variety of kits to choose from. So which one is best for you?

All of our kits come equipped with the rubber patches, adhesive, applicator tips, and sand paper to help you with your on-trail repair. We also include written instructions just incase you're without service when you need to repair your tire. Some kits come with extras like Colby Valves, a Plug Kit, a Montana Made bag, CO2 cartridges, etc. Here’s a guide to help you decide which kit is best for you and your vehicle.

All-Around Best Seller: Full Size Sidewall Repair Kit

Our best selling kit is the Full-Size Sidewall Repair Kit! It includes enough patches and adhesive for 5-7 repairs ( [2] 4" x 4.5" patches and [2] 3” x 1.5” Patch patches) and is great if you're riding anything from a quad to a full-size vehicle. This kit doesn't include accelerator because GlueTread's patches now fully cure in just 10 minutes. This is a great all-around kit!

Our Most Comprehensive Kit: The Expedition Kit

If you're on the trails every weekend, this kit is the one for you. The Expedition Kit is our most comprehensive kit containing everything you need for sidewall repairs, emergency valve stem replacement, a plug kit, valve caps, valve cores a hex key and 4-way tool. This kit comes in a heavy duty Cordura bag that is sewn in Montana. The T-Handles that are a part of the plug kit are also CNC machined in our shop in Montana.

This kit was released in the Spring of 2024 and is our best kit out there.

Prepared for Anything: The Complete Kit

If you're not caring a spare tire and want to be prepared with Colby Valves for valve stem replacement and a plug kit for in-tread damage, try the GlueTread Complete Kit. The T-Handles included in the plug kit are made in our shop in Montana from CNC machined aluminum.

The biggest difference between the Complete Kit & the Expedition Kit is that the Complete Kit doesn't contain  valve caps, valve cores a hex key, a 4-way tool and the heavy duty Cordura bag.

Our Kit for Smaller Vehicles: The SxS Kit

If you’re riding an ATV, UTV or SxS, the SxS Kit is for you. This kit contains smaller rubber patches that are just the right size for a puncture or slice in the sidewall of your tire. There are also two thicknesses of rubber patches in this kit. The thinner patch is flexible, but still plenty tough and can be used to fix damage near a lug or tread on your tire. The thicker patches work well for larger tires that may need help maintaining the structural integrity of a tire after damage. You'll also receive adhesive, applicator tips, sand paper, and accelerator spray.

GlueTread's adhesive and new rubber formula fully cure after just 10 minutes. However, if you'd like to speed up the process even more, this kit also contains the accelerator spray which helps patches to cure immediately.

Our Kit for Larger Vehicles: The 4x4 Kit & The Full-Size Kit

If you’re riding a vehicle that’s larger than a SxS, both the 4x4 Kit or the Full-Size  Kit are great options. The difference between the two kits is that the 4x4 Kit contains GlueTread's accelerator spray and is $10 more. We recommend the Full-Size Kit because the rubber and adhesive now only take 10 minutes to cure before you can reinflate your tire. Both of these kits contain larger and thicker rubber patches optimized for repairing larger sidewall damage while maintaining the structural integrity of the tire.

Our Kit for Agricultural Use: The Tractor Kit

If you have a tractor, the Tractor Kit is for you! The kit contains the same sized patches as the 4x4 kit so that you can repair sidewall damage of any size. These thicker patches work well for larger tires that may need help maintaining the structural integrity of a tire after damage.

Our Air Compressor Replacement: The Inflation Kit

Say you get a flat tire and use a GlueTread kit to patch the sidewall of your tire. But your tire is still flat and you don't have an air compressor with you... no problem! We have an Emergency Inflation Kit containing 2 CO2 cartridges, a chuck to attach them to your tire and an insulation sleeve (the CO2 cartridges can get really cold upon use).

To inflate your tire, you simply attach the chuck to your tire, put the insolation sleeve on the cartridge, attach the CO2 cartridge to the chuck, and inflate! For more information on how to use the CO2 cartridges and what PSI they’ll inflate your tires to, checkout  this video about SxS tire reinflation or  this video about ATV tire reinflation.

Our Sidewall Repair Comprehensive Kit: The All-in-One Deluxe Kit

Sometimes being extra prepared for sidewall repair is really worth it. If you’re taking a long trip, riding with a larger group, or don’t want to carry an air compressor with you, the  All-in-One Deluxe Kit is for you. This kit contains all that you see below including the accelerator spray and emergency inflation kits contents. If you want a kit that also includes Colby Valves or a Plug Kit, checkout the Complete Kit or the Expedition Kit.

Our Budget Kit: The SideWall Seal Mini

If you're looking for the bare minimum, checkout our SideWall Seal Mini. This kit contains one 1.5" x 2" patch, one bottle of adhesive and one piece of sandpaper. It's our most cost effective kit at $10.95.

The Space Saver: The External Patch Kit

If you don’t want to be stuck with a flat tire on the trail, but you don't have room for any extras (like the accelerator spray, extra patches, or inflation kit), then the  External Patch Kit  is for you. The rubber patches are 3"x1.5" and 1.5"x1.5" so rather you’re riding a large vehicle or an ATV, you’ll still have a patch that’s the right side for your vehicle. This kit is budget friendly at only $23.95.
