Tread Application
Mounting Instructions
1.
Begin by prepping the portion of the tire that you would like to add new tread to. Do this by removing all dirt and sanding down any imperfections.
Pro Tip:
Use an orbital sander with 80 grit paper for best results.
2.
It is important that the new tread is prepped correctly to allow for rubber to rubber contact between the new tread and the existing tire.
Pro Tip
When applying new tread to existing tire, the ideal tire temperature is 50
°
-70
°
F.
3.
Add adhesive to the new tread in a grid pattern.
Pro Tip:
Remember that adding too much adhesive will result in a weaker bond.
4.
Place the new tread on the prepared area.
Pro Tip:
If the drops of adhesive run when you turn the tread over, the drops are too big.
5.
Hold the new tread to the tire for 10-15 seconds.
Pro Tip:
Do not slide the new tread in to position once it is on the tire.
6.
While pressing the new tread firmly to the tire, ensure that there is a small bead of glue emerging from all four sides of the tread.
Pro Tip:
When the adhesive is absorbed, the tread will have a white tint just above the adhesive line. This shows a successfully cured bond.
7.
Allow the new tread to cure for one hour then return the vehicle to normal use!
Pro Tip:
Store excess adhesive in a cool place, like a refrigerator.
